Character Curriculum

At Stonebridge Academy, character development is central to our curriculum and underpins everything we do. We believe that academic success and personal character go hand in hand, and we are committed to developing well-rounded, confident, and responsible young people who are prepared for life beyond the classroom.

Our character curriculum is rooted in our core values of Resilience, Connection, Excellence, Integrity, and Growth. These values are explicitly taught, modelled by staff, and reinforced through daily learning, enrichment opportunities, and our wider school culture.

Through resilience, students learn to persevere through challenges, reflect on setbacks, and develop a positive growth mindset. Connection encourages respect, empathy, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging within our diverse school community. Excellence drives high expectations for behaviour, effort, and aspiration, motivating students to take pride in their learning and personal conduct. Integrity ensures students understand the importance of honesty, responsibility, fairness, and ethical decision-making. Growth supports students in developing confidence, independence, and the skills needed for future education, employment, and life.
